  • Christmas Day (Dec 25)
  • New Year's Eve (Dec 31)

Explore the diverse history of Fort Bend County in the newly renovated Museum Gallery, which features items from the Fort Bend History Association's extensive collections. Then, enjoy Richmond’s breathtaking natural environment on our Museum Grounds.

Learn about life in Fort Bend in the 1860s with a guided house tour of the 1855 Long-Smith Cottage and 1883 Moore Home. These optional tours are only available with the purchase of general admission to the Museum Gallery & Grounds.

Built by Jane Long's grandson, the 1855 Long-Smith Cottage is one of the oldest buildings in the county. The 1883 Moore Home was home to Congressman John. M. and Lottie Dyer Moore, and in 2001, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

School Field Trips

Our local history museum welcomes thousands of students during the spring and fall seasons. Please be advised that, due to these scheduled field trips, access to the Museum Gallery & Grounds may be severely limited between the hours of 9:30am and 1:15pm.

Please note that parents and chaperones on school field trips must purchase their entrance tickets at the front desk upon arrival, as ticket prices are different from those listed below.

How much time should I plan for my visit?
Everyone's pace is different, but we suggest allowing at least 1-2 hours for your visit. Once you’re checked in, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like (until we close, of course).
