Your health and safety are our top priorities. Please visit this link for an updated list of health and safety protocols, including face-mask requirements and occupancy limits, that we have implemented to ensure safe visits for everyone.

Visiting the Fort Bend Museum

  • NOTE: The Gallery is currently closed and under construction as the History Rising campaign to renovate the Fort Bend Museum is officially underway! However, historic home tours will still take place at 10 a.m., 1 p.m and 3 p.m.
  • Take a house tour of the Long-Smith Cottage. Built in 1855, the cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Richmond and was originally placed on land owned by Jane Long, the "Mother of Texas."
  • Tour the 1883 historic Moore Mansion, home to Congressman John. M. and Lottie Dyer Moore. Four generations of the Moore family lived in the home, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

NEW! We've Temporarily Moved!

The Museum gallery is currently under renovation. Check-in is now located at 600 Houston Street, across from the Long-Smith Cottage.
