Our History, Our Diversity

The Fort Bend History Museum offers a unique monthly speaker series titled “Our History, Our Diversity,” which began in March 2022. Held in our revitalized museum gallery and event space, these lectures are designed to elevate, celebrate, and illuminate the diverse stories and individuals of Fort Bend County. Through engaging talks and interactive workshops, attendees can deepen their understanding of our local heritage and connect with the vibrant community that shapes our history. Join us for these enriching experiences that contribute to preserving and sharing the cultural richness of our area.

Miss Ivy's Spooktacular Halloween Party

Trick or Treating at the Museum

5:30 pm - 7:30 PM, Friday, October 30th

Come join the Fort Bend Museum for a FREE family friendly evening trick or treating in the historic Moore House! See the home decorated in all its spookiness for Halloween, and as you pass through each room, be sure to grab yourself a piece candy from our staff and volunteers. While at the museum, pop on over to Morton Street for Richmond’s annual Trunk or Treat and say hello to staff and volunteers and net yourself even more candy! Whether you’re making your way through downtown Richmond or stopping by the historic Moore Mansion, we’d love to see you and your little ghosts, goblins, princesses, and superheroes!

Turning 250

Fort Bend County Celebrates the American Journey

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 21st

Step into history and celebrate 250 years of America at this free event featuring local museums and cultural organizations, historical re-enactors portraying figures such as Thomas Jefferson and Davy Crockett, musical and dance performances, hands-on activities and much more! “Turning 250” will take place just down the street from the annual Pecan Harvest Festival, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy both events and experience a full day of history, culture, and family-friendly fun in historic Richmond!
