Cost: Activities are included with the purchase of a Gallery Ticket. Purchase your ticket here. Time: 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (come-and-go event) Looking for something to do this Spring Break? Join us at the Fort Bend Museum March 15-18 for a week of hands-on history activities for guests of all ages. in addition to exploring our historic homes and museum gallery, guests can travel back in time and experience life as a pioneer, take a lesson in our one-room school, play old-fashioned games, and more! If Spring Break participants are interested in our 1pm or 3pm historic house tours, a Regular Admission ticket is required. For more information, please call the Museum at 281-342-6478. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and blanket to enjoy in our courtyard!

Tuesday: Pioneer Chores
Let's travel back in time to experience daily life on the Texas frontier! Activities include drawing water from the well, washing clothes on a washboard, grinding corn, and churning butter. Wednesday: Textiles in Texas Join us as a spinner guides guests through making cloth by demonstrating our spinning wheels using cotton and wool. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to learn hand spinning and weaving. Thursday: One-room School Sit up straight and get your slates as class begins in our turn-of-the-century schoolroom. Activities include playing the pipe chimes, writing on slates, using nib pens dipped in ink, and more! Friday: Fun & Games Let's have some fun and play classic games that children of all ages have loved throughout history. Guests will get a chance to learn, practice, and play games such as stilts, bowling, rolling hoops, and more. |
