Our History, Our Diversity

The Fort Bend History Museum offers a unique monthly speaker series titled “Our History, Our Diversity,” which began in March 2022. Held in our revitalized museum gallery and event space, these lectures are designed to elevate, celebrate, and illuminate the diverse stories and individuals of Fort Bend County. Through engaging talks and interactive workshops, attendees can deepen their understanding of our local heritage and connect with the vibrant community that shapes our history. Join us for these enriching experiences that contribute to preserving and sharing the cultural richness of our area.

Haunted History Tours

Spooky Season at the Museum

7:00 pm - 9:00 PM, October 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th

Come join the Fort Bend Museum throughout the month of October for our annual Haunted History Tours, a night that gives new meaning to bringing the past to life…Enjoy a guided tour of spooky stories through historic downtown Richmond with, for the first time, exclusive access to the historic McFarlane House, said to be the most haunted building in Richmond! Tours also include entry to the museum grounds, including the 1883 Moore Mansion, Long-Smith Cottage, and, and museum gallery! Tickets are limited for each night so secure yours now!

Museum member pricing will require membership verification upon check in.

Archeology in Fort Bend County

Texas Archeology Month

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 22nd

Join the Fort Bend Museum for a special and free Gallery Gathering program celebrating Texas Archeology Month! Paul Spana, President of the Fort Bend Archeological Society and Fort Bend History Association Board of Trustees, and Dan Worrall of the Fulshear Historical Association, will share information about ongoing archeological projects and discoveries in Fort Bend County and the surrounding area. Visitors can also explore an artifact display and the museum gallery. You can register for this free event at the link below!

The first 40 to register will also receive a complementary clay pinch pot kit, courtesy of the Texas Historical Commission!
