Our History, Our Diversity

The Fort Bend History Museum offers a unique monthly speaker series titled “Our History, Our Diversity,” which began in March 2022. Held in our revitalized museum gallery and event space, these lectures are designed to elevate, celebrate, and illuminate the diverse stories and individuals of Fort Bend County. Through engaging talks and interactive workshops, attendees can deepen their understanding of our local heritage and connect with the vibrant community that shapes our history. Join us for these enriching experiences that contribute to preserving and sharing the cultural richness of our area.

Haunted History Tour

Spooky season isn’t just a time of year, it’s a state of mind…
 

The spirits have spoken…The Summerween Haunted History Tour is being resurrected from the grave for another night of our exclusive event, where we will delve into the stories of local history while conducting our own paranormal investigation. Join us at the Fort Bend Museum where guests will have the chance to learn about the county’s past residents, and maybe even make contact, using a variety of investigative tools! Gain after-hours access to the historic Moore Home, Long-Smith Cottage, and museum gallery, and take the chance to explore each building. Are you brave enough to confront the past and maybe learn some of its secrets?

Whether you’re inspired by enchanted forests, legendary castles, magical creatures, or timeless fairy tales, this is your invitation to dress for the realm and spend Halloween night immersed in an unforgettable evening. This event will have dinner provided, an opportunity to learn ballroom dancing, and a tour of the decorated historic Moore House adorned with a Harry Potter theme alongside the grounds decorated as Lord of the Rings, and finally the museum gallery with a thematic A Court of Thorns and Roses design.
