Summer Programs

In addition to regular school/daycare programming at the museum this summer, there will be two weeks set aside for local children to experience Texas history for themselves. Each program is a half day of learning and fun - sign up for one or all four in any combination. All programs will be offered in the morning and afternoon on alternative days - see schedule. Suitable for ages 8-12, but younger children allowed with parent participation. Each session limited to 20. Cost is $6 per program/$5 for members.


Programs available:

Archeology: Introduction to archeology and Native Americans, identifying and digging up artifacts

Frontier Survival: Print and sign a land grant with a quill pen, learn the basics of cabin building, play the games of the the time, and make a snack

At Home in 1860: Includes dress up, tour of Long-Smith Cottage, carding cotton and other chores

At Home in 1890: Family life in 1890 includes tour of Historic Moore Home, schoolwork and Victorian games
