Junior Docents

A Junior Docent is a:

  • Tour guide
  • Historian
  • Friendly smile to a wiggly child
  • Helper
  • Volunteer
  • A GREAT asset to the Museum

Volunteers should have:

  • A real interest in history
  • A desire to be helpful
  • An ability to learn simple programs pertaining to Fort Bend County history
  • Be between 13 and 18 years old

Celebrate! Festival

Activities: Making corn cob dolls and tortillas; pinatas, games, face painting, etc.

Training for volunteers: TBD

Event: Saturday, September 18, 2010 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Fort Bend Museum.


Texian Market Days:

Activities: Dressing up in period clothing to do games and time-period-appropriate activities plus a special pre-school area.

Training for volunteers: TBD

Event: Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the George Ranch Historical Park.


Candlelight Christmas Tours:

Activities: Giving tours of the Long-Smith Cottage.

Training for tours: TBD

Event: December 3 and 4, 2010.
