DeWalt Heritage Center

More than 100 years of Texas History

School Field Trips

The future DeWalt Heritage Center, to be housed in the restored Dew Plantation House at Kitty Hollow Park, will be an interactive museum focusing on local history. The DeWalt Heritage Center will offer tours of the original plantation house where students can learn about the Dew family's instrumental role in shaping the area. They'll also learn about the crops that were grown and will get an insider's look at the lifestyles of those who owned and worked the land where many modern homes now stand.

Until the Center opens to the public, many area schools are participating in the "Dropping Pennies for Dew" campaign. Download the brochure and join us!
