Part-Time/Hourly Positions

Front Desk/Tour Guide, Fort Bend County Museum

Openings for weekday and weekend morning and afternoon shifts.
Flexible schedule, 20 to 30 hours per week
Starting pay: $6.50/hour

Historical Interpreters, Texian Time Machine

Texian Time Machine is an educational outreach program for elementary and middle school students.

Salary: $75/half day, $125/full day

Days/Hours: Varies based upon school bookings with possible seasonal peaks during autumn and spring; Weekdays, with the potential for 4-6 weekend days for special events during the year (optional).

Preferred qualifications and experience: Must be at least 18 years or older; able to wear period costumes; work outdoors in various weather conditions; must be punctual, reliable, honest, polite and considerate of co-workers and clients; possess strong public contact skills gained through teaching, living history, historical interpretation, reenactments, museum work, or theater arts-performance; basic knowledge of Texas and/or U.S. history; able to assist setting up activity areas, which may include lifting 15-25 lbs.; ability to work a flexible, possibly intermittent schedule; and, must have reliable transportation. Special Note: All finalists will be required to provide a current driver's license in order to conduct a criminal background check.
